| 1 | When I met Maya on the page, I realized just how deep she can go. I became consumed with desire to explore the depths of her soul. I would ask myself "What lies at the core of this young woman that makes her run from herself? What makes her use?" I wanted to deepen my understanding of the demons that keep her from becoming her whole, pure self. In her, I do see myself. And into her I breathe the truths of those close to me who have battled addiction with all fibers of their being - fibers that have been frayed by life, stretched by dependency and strife. What Maya seeks is pure connection. And that, I believe, is at the core of us all. |
| 2 | Do I dream? Absolutely! It's the art of taking each dream and molding it into reality that I so dearly love. After all, dreams are the very essence of our soul's desire. To dream without dedication, conviction, and perseverance is to cheat your own soul. |
| 3 | After all the experience and miles of memories that I carry with me, the one thing I have learned is that you must remain true to your heart. Without that, you are nothing. |
